GENERAL DESCRIPTION ESTRAUS is a computer model that simulates the operation
of urban transportation systems (developed by the Chilean government through SECTRA ). ESTRAUS determines a simultaneous combined network
equilibrium using the most recent modeling and computational advances to
overcome the well known limitations of the classical 4-step transportation
planning paradigm. ESTRAUS is especially designed for the analysis and
evaluation of strategic transportation plans. The type of plans that can be analyzed and evaluated
with ESTRAUS include transportation projects and/or policies such as: subway
lines, highways, roadway concessions, capacity change in urban roads,
segregated transit corridors, road pricing, public transport fare
integration, etc. |

availability, trip purpose) • Multi-modal Network, Multi-user, Pure and Combined
Modes • Congestion in all Networks and Explicit Capacity
Constraints in Public Transportation • Flexible and Hierarchical Structure for Demand
Models (e.g. include departure-time choice) • Trip Distribution Model: Doubly Constrained
Entropy Maximization • Modal Split Model: Hierarchical LOGIT • Deterministic Equilibrium Assignment in Public and
Private Transportation Networks. • Interactive Network Edition and Result Analysis

Modify and edit road network, transit itineraries, etc. Visualize Simulation Results: Vehicle and passenger flow on links. Passenger load on each line of
transit modes, etc. GIS-based Platform: Compatible with other graphic and geographic
formats, for example .dwg, .dxf (CAD) and .shp (Shapefiles). ESTRAUS Execution: On-line parameter
modification and ESTRAUS simulation. |
